Song for the scent: The Ravens - Count Every Star I am wearing a good old dose of Tabu this afternoon.
My son says the room now smells of damp wood that is hot and being dried out, a little smokey and warm. Hope they never discontinue this beauty or water it dowm too much.
Compared to some of the outright skanky and screeching scents out there, this is a scent for the woman who goes to the bar alone for a well-made cocktail, not in desperate hopes of getting taken home.
yes but only the positive fan reviews get kept, and thats not a fair opinion of how the fragrance comes across to all of us, theres no need to all jump on me or assume i dont like vintages or wasnt even a thought in existance just because i dont rate the drugstore cheapie dana tabu as a very good perfume. so yes for an under perfume i guess its a piece of work. Just a fact of life that we each have differing tastes and opinions! Im afraid to say i am a huge vintage lover, i have vintage shalimar, opium, coco chanel, paloma picasso, etc etc. it cannot hold up to these grand dames and yet it is lamented everywhere as such and that i find misleading.
It's a good smell but it doesn't fit my personality.
My keywords: Home, comfy, warm, security, prudent, devoted, loyal, cheerful, poised, maternal.
❤ This is my first time trying this fragrance and I love it! I was home sick from work and I wore this to bed, applying it several time during the day.
Seriously, If you love this scent as much as I do, Always remember, We are the lucky ones!
The first fragrance of the house was Tabu, created by Jean Carles 1932. I read a lot of comments about it and it seemed like an incredible warm, mysterious oriental with insence notes that could remind of Nag Champa's smell.
Jean Carles was well known for his wonderful creations made of unusual materials. But unfortunately i don't get this Nag Champa at all.
Like something sinister, it kept haunting me and filled me with dread, resulting in nausea and even anxiety :/ So... This is my first review on this great site and I wanted to start with an oldie but goody! I used to wear this in my teens, (and it went with cigarettes, leather jackets, and bourbon perfectly!
) It may have been richer oh those many years ago, but it is still a great scent! Best for colder days imo, the warm spices envelope you. This is my first flash back Friday review and I have decided to start where it all began, Tabu!
